OpenTeeBox Terms of Service
Draft Version 1.0 for partner and trial users
Effective date: May 1, 2026. These terms are provided for early access, partner, and trial use and remain subject to further review and revision.
These Terms of Service govern your use of OpenTeeBox.golf, operating as OpenTeeBox, including the OpenTeeBox website, app, notifications, membership features, tee-time posting tools, reservation tools, and related services.
By creating an account, signing in, posting a tee time, taking a reservation spot, or otherwise using OpenTeeBox, you agree to these Terms.
This draft is intended to make current platform expectations visible while final legal terms are reviewed. OpenTeeBox may update these Terms before or after public launch.
1. What OpenTeeBox Does
OpenTeeBox is a platform that helps golfers post, discover, coordinate, and manage tee-time opportunities. OpenTeeBox is not a golf course, travel provider, booking agency, or guarantor of any tee time. Tee times, course access, pricing, availability, weather, pace of play, course policies, and related conditions remain subject to the applicable golf course and third parties.
2. User Accounts
You agree to provide accurate account, profile, contact, and membership information. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account. You may not impersonate another person, create misleading account information, or use OpenTeeBox for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
3. Tee-Time Listings
If you post a tee time, you represent that you currently hold the tee time or have the right to offer the listed spots. You agree that the course, date, time, number of available spots, cancellation instructions, and other listing details are accurate to the best of your knowledge.
False listings, misleading listings, unavailable tee times, repeated late cancellations, or other misuse may affect your reliability status and may result in account limits, suspension, or removal.
4. Taking a Reservation Spot
If you reserve or request a spot in another user's tee time, you agree to honor the listed time, course requirements, posted cancellation instructions, and reasonable communications related to that tee time.
OpenTeeBox does not guarantee that a listed spot will remain available or that a golf course will honor any arrangement between users.
5. Cancellations
Users are responsible for following the cancellation instructions associated with each tee time. Late cancellations, no-shows, or failure to communicate may affect reliability status or account access.
OpenTeeBox may track cancellation timing and related compliance information to support trust and safety on the platform.
6. Memberships and Payments
OpenTeeBox membership fees, if any, are for platform access and related services. They do not include greens fees, cart fees, caddie fees, food and beverage charges, club charges, tournament fees, or any other amount charged by a golf course or third party unless expressly stated.
Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers such as Stripe. Their terms and policies may also apply.
7. Notifications
Notifications are central to OpenTeeBox functionality. By using the platform, you understand that email, push, SMS, or in-app notifications may be used for tee-time alerts, booking updates, cancellations, membership status, and other timing-sensitive messages.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to misuse OpenTeeBox. Prohibited conduct includes fraud, harassment, abusive communications, spam, scraping, unauthorized access, interference with platform operations, misuse of another user's personal information, or any activity that harms users, golf courses, or OpenTeeBox.
9. Privacy and Data Deletion
Your use of OpenTeeBox is also governed by our Privacy Policy. To request account or user data deletion, email MemberServices@openteebox.golf from the email address associated with your account.
10. Third-Party Services
OpenTeeBox may rely on third-party services for authentication, hosting, database services, payments, notifications, maps, geocoding, analytics, and other functions. OpenTeeBox is not responsible for third-party outages, errors, terms, policies, or actions.
11. No Warranty
OpenTeeBox is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any tee time, course information, user information, or notification will be accurate or available at all times.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OpenTeeBox is not liable for missed tee times, unavailable reservations, golf course disputes, user conduct, weather, travel costs, lost opportunities, third-party service issues, indirect damages, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
13. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to OpenTeeBox if we believe a user has violated these Terms, misused the platform, created false listings, repeatedly failed to honor reservations, or acted in a way that harms other users or the platform.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of OpenTeeBox after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
