Frequently asked questions
Official answers for OpenTeeBox.golf — Circles, coordination, and tee-time sharing (not course booking).
Circles — tee-time sharing
A free personal golf group on OpenTeeBox.golf — friends and regular partners you coordinate with. Founders invite by email or link; members join with a free account. Circles focus on sharing tee times you already booked, not replacing how you reserve or pay the course. Learn more · Wiki
Circles are member-started and free. Club groups use a roster CSV, leadership setup, and a private slug link (example: https://openteebox.golf/join?groupSlug=abwc). Clubs may lock home course; Circles do not. For clubs
Start: sign in → Club House → Start your circle (top tile; name form opens right away). Also on Profile. Invite: Circle hub → email or copy link. Join: open invite link → create free account with invited email.
Circle hub → Post opening for this Circle after you reserve with the venue (course, simulator, lounge, range, etc.). Members get an email with I'm in and Can't make it buttons. On Bronze+, roster emails may also get member-first priority invites. Track RSVPs in Club House. Responding from email · Posting
Use the I'm in or Can't make it buttons in the Circle email — not Reply, not a text, and not a phone call to the host. That keeps everyone's answer in one place. Sign in only when you tap I'm in and need to claim a spot. Full guide
No for traditional courses — your membership tier still sets geography (home course, continent, or worldwide). Circle speeds coordination; it does not widen that scope. Indoor and practice venues (simulators, lounges, ranges) are open to all members for post and book regardless of tier. Venue types
Platform & membership
No. OpenTeeBox.golf is a global coordination platform with 31+ languages. Company headquarters are in Westport, CT — a business address, not where members can use the product. Golfer app guide · Global scope
The platform is worldwide. Membership tier only limits how far you can post/discover at traditional golf courses (home course → continent → worldwide). Indoor and practice venues are global on every plan. Venue types
Anywhere golfers book, reserve, or arrange time to play together — municipal and private courses, clubs, resorts, golf simulators, virtual golf bays, golf lounges, driving ranges, and similar sessions. You reserve and pay at the venue; OpenTeeBox.golf coordinates who fills the opening. Venue list
No. It does not book tee times at venues. Members reserve directly with courses, simulators, lounges, ranges, and similar operators. OpenTeeBox.golf coordinates sharing openings they already hold. See comparison to booking engines.
No — they are complementary. OpenTeeBox.golf fills and shares already-booked tee times; booking engines sell and manage tee sheet inventory. Full comparison

Set playing level, amateur/pro, and optional age range before you post. Only members whose profiles match all selected criteria see the opening. Tap Preview audience to see reach. Audience targeting
Filters use self-reported profile fields — not verified handicaps. Hosts still approve join requests. Use reputation badges, Circle context, and a quick pre-round chat for pace and intent. Matching tips
Leadership sends a roster CSV (email, full_name), preferred slug, and a group logo (PNG 512×512 ideal). We activate a private join link. Members sign up with the exact roster email — no per-member admin approval after setup. See For clubs for full file requirements.
A profile field linking a member to a primary course. Some membership tiers scope discovery or posting to that course.
